Show OFFICIALS OF MURRAY, HOLD A CELEBRATION Special to The Tribune. MURRAY, Doc. 31. In order to appropriately appro-priately close the old year, tho city officials offi-cials of Murray, together with the members mem-bers of the volunteer tire department, met In the fire station hero tonight and dined and wlncd Charles Brown, the retiring city executive of Murray, and his successor, suc-cessor, Phil Bentz. The event, which was an invitation affair, was largely attended at-tended by many of the promlnenl citizens citi-zens of the town. The banquet was served In the gymnasium, and seatod at the table wore the outgoing councilmen and the new city solons. During the courses, speeches were made by tho various city officials. Mayor Brown paid n high compliment to tho councilmen who v composed the council during his reign, and regretted that he could not act longer In the capacity of mayor. T'hll Bentz, tho new chief executive. In turn paid a Irlbutr to the outgoing officers. of-ficers. Others In nttondanco gave hricf talks. Following tho banquot. tho lloor was cleared and the entire crowd danced the old year out and ushered tho new one In. |
