Show BIG CATTLE HERD SOLD; FROM IDAHO TO MONTANA Special lo The Tribune. SALMON CITV. Tda.. Dec. o. C. G. Malhcwson. one of the foremost brcccers of beef cattle In this district, has sold his entire herd to Mr. Rand of Horse Prairie, and the stock has been, taken to the Hahilllon ranch In Montana. The outfit consisted of full-blood, seven-elehths, seven-elehths, and thrcc-ounrters Snorthorns. For manv years Maine wson nas been studiously building up the blood of his cattle- by Importing from the cast full-blood full-blood Shorthorn bulls, and some of the best heads of herds In Lemhi county were raised by him. It is stated that the Gilmorc & Pittsburg Pitts-burg Railroad company has opened western west-ern offices in Portland, and that the Salmon-Lcwiston section of the line will be placed under construction in the spring. For some time past the company has had engineers at work at points along the Salmon river making corrections in the location survey which was completed last summer, A very fine specimen of a stone ax wns discovered bv George Plum at a depth of thirty -five- feet, while digging a well, two miles from Leadorc.
