are protracting protract ing the sixtieth and last days session yesterday they transacted the following business H P 57 I 1 he militia bill was killed when placed on its passage only two voted in favor of it the committee recommended for rent of the court honce t prove bf not paid the governor returned without his approval J rr latin to the cus records the latter portion of the bill containing some objectionable provisions referred to the committee on judiciary he also recommended that the commissioners ners to dispose of territorial bonds as provided in C F 67 be appointed by liis excellency the bill was so amended and passed the conference committee on C F 72 the library bill reported eliat an agreement had not been readied lale in the day however the committee again reported and recommended that H F 87 the house library bili le l e rejected and that G F 72 be placed on its passage with certain amendments which had been agreed upon HF 92 providing for payment of phonographic court reporters was received from the amended in accordance with the Governor 8 suggestions by fixing the salary at 10 per diem and 15 cents per words for transcripts the bill passed the council aa amended by the house mr bryan by permission introduced C F 73 providing provi dine for holding a term of the first district court at nephi the bill was passed under suspension of the rules the house announced that it had amended C 31 relating to government of cities paying etc the bill was referred to the committee on municipal corporations and towns the committee reported in favor of concurring in the kouse amendments and the bill was passed as amended me governor vernor jo returned G F 39 relating to costs in criminal cases without his signature giving as his reasons that had reached him too late for due inspection spec tion C C eichardt Eich ards stated that the bill had been forwarded to the governor on monday which was prior to the date set by him when he would consider bills he said the bill was one of the most important that had been introduced and moved that a committee of two be appointed to confer with his excellency cel lency on the question the council could well afford to remain in session until the governor had time to consider the bill the motion prevailed and councillors councilors Counci lors richards and barton were appointed to wait on the governor until 11 a m to day HOUSE the governor announced that he had approved H F 42 the reform school bill and H F 59 providing for the assessing and collecting of taxes on tran herds C F 69 the bill providing for the payment of costs in territorial criminal cases as amended by the committee came up among the amendments was one providing for the payment of witnesses who testified before commis the bill passed the council announced that it had reconsidered its action in reference to he law and had passed the same with amendments the amendments were concurred in by the house and the bill then passed the governor returned H F 92 the bill providing for the payment of witnesses jurors and stenographic reporters recommending that it be amended so as to allow court reporters 10 per day instead of and witnesses 15 cents per mile instead of 10 cents the suggestions were adopted adoo ted H F 26 relating to city streets GF 62 to insure the p ament of city bonds and C F 50 regulations under the townsite act were rejected upon recommendation of the committee the committee on conference on H F 58 the library bill recommended that the house adopt the council substitute for the house file adopted and the bill then passed the council announced that the governor had returned C F 67 the bond bill recommending that it be BO amended as to provide that the loan commissioners be appointed by the executive by and with the advice and consent of the legislative council the council had made the amendments suggested and the house concurred therein the governor announced that he had approved H F 74 to provide for the incorporation and management of loan trust and guaranty associations also H F 92 providing for the payment of witnesses jurors and phonographic reporters and cre abing and
