Show BRIGHAM'S INTERURBAN DELAYED IN CONSTRUCTION Special to The Tribune. BRIGHAM CITY. Aug. 9. Brlgham citizens are somewhat disappointed to U?arn that the interurban road from the not Springs to this city will not be completed com-pleted before Peach day. as was tirst Intended. The officials of the Ogden Rapid Transit company have made every effort to push the roud to completion, so as to haul passengers to this city on Peach day. September 7. but it. appears now that it will be Impossible to complete com-plete the road by that time even to operate with steam. The roud has been completed ae5 far north as Willard for traffic with the exception of electrification, electrifica-tion, and until the road is eleclrltlcd, which will be about September 1, cars will be drawn by steam engines to Willard. Wil-lard. It is the Intention of the officials of the road to install regular service between be-tween Ogden and Willard on or about September 1. . The officials and citizens of Ogden were Riven a rousing welcome In Willard Wil-lard last week when tho first train, composed com-posed of the two new coaches drawn by a steam locomotive, made its tirst appearance ap-pearance In the little town on the south. The citizens there have planned a big celebration for August 31, when regular service between there and Ogden has been promised by the road. While no definite preparations have been made for a celebration In this city upon the advent of the street railway here, It is most likely that a bin celebration cele-bration will be held on the day the llrst through car from Ogden is due to arrive here. It will likely be two months before be-fore the road is completed, so there is plentv of time to make preparations. Grading for tho road has been completed com-pleted to within two miles north of the city, and track laying is finished to a point about two miles north of Willard. |
