Show HAINS BROTHERS FACE INDICTMENT FOR MURDER NEVv YORK, Oct. 20. Capt. Peter C. Halns, Jr., and his brotner, T. Jenkins Mains, wcro arraigned beforo Supremo Court Justice Garretson at Flushing-, L. I., today, on nn indictment, charging murder mur-der in tho first degroe. In connection with tho death of William 13. Annls. John F. Mclntyrc. counsol for tho defendants, de-fendants, demurred to tho indictment on tho ground that tho grand jury had not been properly drawn, his principal objection ob-jection being the presenco on tho Jury of a man said to havo been a lifelong friend of Annis, The court refused to tako up the point, whereupon Mr. Mc-Intvre Mc-Intvre asked for tlmo to Inspect tho minutes min-utes of tho Jury beforo entering plea for his clionts. The case waa then adjourned ad-journed until tomorrow. The proceedings in court today indicated indi-cated that T. Jenkins TIains will be tried first. It is understood that District Attorney At-torney Darrln will nsk tho court to fix November 9 ns tho date for the trial. |
