| Show MAUD resolutions tu her memory passed by the B Y academy after school yesterday a mass ing of teachers and students of the BY academy was held in the assembly hall to condole the sad event of the death of miss maud beaver a student of the normal department and who departed this life thursday march hyrum harris was called to act as chairman and miss mattie nelson as secretary the chairman appointed N L kelson in behalf of acuity and S A king and in he half of the students a committee to draft appropriate resolutions prof K G maeser delivered an eloquent and touching address in commemoration of th e deceased and was followed in like manner hy other members of the faculty after which the committee having completed their labors the following resolutions ona were unanimously adopted by the inscrutable decree of a divine providence our former pupil and fellow student Miss maud has been called behind the vail and her amiable disposition and her diligence and persever enco as a student have endeared her to us her associates as teachers and students of this institution therefore that in the death of miss maud we have lost an honest friend and sister and eliat we the bereaved family of the deceased our sincerest condolence in their sad loas and that these resolutions he published in the UTAH and the southern and that a copy of the came be sent to the bereaved family N L NELSON in behalf of the faculty 8 A KING findlay in behalf of the students among a host of students that desired to there been time H A anderson joseph anderson hyrum harris and william hayes besides emil isgreen of the faculty paid glowing tributes to tiie many virtues endearing miss alike to students and teachers tea chefs during her sojourn in the academy H S HARRIS chairman MATTIE NELSON secretary |
