Show FlfiE EASTER MUSIC II LOCAL CHURCHES Sermons Appropriate to the Occasion, Oc-casion, and Large Congregations. Con-gregations. Easter Sundaj-, the anniversary of the resurrection of Christ, was appropriately appro-priately observed at tho various places of worship of the city yesterday. Beautiful Beau-tiful flowers and impressive music were featuves of ml of the services, and although al-though i lie da from a weather standpoint stand-point was not very pleasant, yet from a religious standpoint it was a helpful one for all wl'o attended tho services at the various churches. Of course, the various uiinistc-rs all preached on subjects sub-jects ;:ppropr:.'.;e to Emrer, Splendid musical nrog'-amuies were gi-uu at all the churches of the city. Perhaps in no churclies of the city were tho services more impressive than those at tho two IDpiscopal churches, St. Mark's cathedral and Si. Paul's church. Special Easter services were held at both churches at 11 o'clock Sunday Sun-day morning. At St. Mark's cathedral, cathe-dral, Dean Benjamin Brewster preached an able sermon on "Tho Spiritunl Insurrection." Ins-urrection." The auditorium was hand-someh' hand-someh' decorated with Easter lilies, calla lilies, palms and tulips. A very largo congregation was present. At St. Paul's church, the rector, the Bow Charles E. Perkins, preached an impressive sermon on "The Power of An Endless Lifo. " Tho church was decorated with Easier lilies aud palms. The musical programme was very enjoyable. en-joyable. At tho First Presbyterian church, Dr. W. M. Paden preaclied an eloquent .sermon to about seventy-five members of Utah commandary 2'o. 1, Jvnights Templar. j |
