| Show HE FOOLED WITH A PISTOL one boy shot through the acs and another barely escapes death what came very nearly depriving a couple of buys of their 1 ivea happened on provo bench on sunday two or three days ago a 16 vear old boy by the name of harvey E hundley whose home is in salt lake city got posses sion of a 32 revolver owned by another boy named john lunceford and sported aromnd with it in a loaded condition to the danger of the people into whose houses he went he was frequently beins told that he would hart somebody with it ant all the response oh h 1 theres no ganger to jhb une family ordered him oaf their premises daring him to come around wilile he had the weapon on him on sunday afternoon handley in connection with lunceford went to a hay stack lunceford laid down by the side of him and dozed off to sleep handley thought he would scare him so he took the revolver and fired the results were different to what he expected he had been cleaning the pistol and neglected to replace the cylinder pin the consequence was that the hammer struck two bullets oue of which went through the thigh of handley juet above the knee and the other narrowly escaped penetrating the skull of lunceford the bullet goin so close as to graze his face handley was at taken to dr pike who probed the wound for over an hour and I 1 a half in search of the ball but without success he found that the bullat on striking the knee cap had split in two one piece going down one side of the leg and the other piece going down alie other side dr pike recommended the boy being taken to salt lake for treatment which was done he left by the utah central train on sanday afternoon |
