| Show CITY COUNCIL the OH adobe yard ordered to be improved for a public park the city council met in regular session laste with the mayor in the chair tho petition of dr W it piko asking the council to close up the road by the asylum leading to the gravel beds was referred to the committee on streets and alleys the report of the city marshal for february showing nine arrests and fines collected amounting to 45 was accepted the city Ee corders report for february showing collected as license during that time was read and filed g city justice W D alexanders report for the quarter ending march was read and filed the committee on public grounds and city property to whom was referred the petition of V H brown et al asking the council to set aside the old adobe yard for a public park made their report which was accepted the report recommends the granting of the petition and the fencing draining and leveling of that property mr scott moved to refer the subject of surveying plotting and setting apart the adobe a park to a special committee to be appointed by the mayor carried holdaway scott and brown were appointed and instructed to prosecute the work the usual batch of claims were then allowed after which the council proceeded to the appointment of city officers the only changes made were in the appointments of joab collier to be city sexton and henry white to be the council than adjourned till monday at p m |
