Show 5 stoker looker joss as S Sets E S 1 Drive A lesson about grandparents from rom other countries has inspired fourth grade students in Mrs Richards Richard's class at the Stoker School to do a good deed for children all over the world It all began when Miss Sherry Beesley who is student teaching at Stoker wore a dress from Crom Scotland and talked about it and andler her ler Scottish ancestors with the i class Then some one brought adress a adress dress from Persia and the International International International In In- feeling was on I I Students pushed ahead with map projects and dolls from the various countries of oC the w world And then it occurred to them that it would be fun to actually help chi children dren from the countries they were studying Their teachers explained the United Nations Nation's International Childrens Children's Chil Chit Children's Childrens drens dren's Emergency Fund dine dirve that was being made by by many manyI children on their Halloween trick I I or treat trips about town Childrens Children's Children's Childrens Chil Chil- drens dren's Emergency Fund drive would buy five glasses of milk for Cor these children many of oC whom had never tasted milk They also learned that the money goes to buy medical supplies sup plies and other items badly needed by children throughout the world The enthused class members decided to join the march on Halloween instead of asking for candy they will carry a milk carton and a special badge indicating their desire to help children less fortunate than themselves They carried the message throughout the school and a number of other students chose to join them in their unselfish unselfish un selfish project And it all started out with a scotch plaid and a lesson on grandparents across the ocean pj |
