Show Dope From the Polsce Court I Additional testimony was given in the Woton battery case, which has had trial beforo Judgo Diehl, at yesterday afternoon's session of police court. Tudgo Diehl will givo his decision in tho case this afternoon at 2 o'clock. H i J. B. Smith was arraigned upon a battery charge, alleged to havo been committed upon William Bromwoll, ono of the strikebreakers at the Denver & Rio Grando Tailroad repair shop. A request was mado for a jury trial, which was granted. The case will come up for hearing this forenoon at 10 o 'clock. tr Tho namo of Edward Anderson was called by Clerk Gutch. but Jailer Rip-loy Rip-loy informed tho court that tho man was still too drunk to appear, and Judgo Diehl ordered the man be scheduled sched-uled as sick and the case set for Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. Harry Hinton, who was found lying besido Redwood road in tho southern portion of tho cit3" by Policeman Olson, was sentenced to thirty davs in jail. During the time of his sentenco an attempt at-tempt will bo mado to havo him exam-ined exam-ined as to his sanity and cared for by iho county. Tho man, when found by tho policeman, said he had rathor die than go to jail. In fact, ho said, he had lain down by the roadside with the intention of d'ving. A case of drunkenness against Richard Rich-ard Drono who, while having a scries of epileptic fits bit off tho end of his tongue, was dismissod. Drono is being treated for his trouble at tho city jail. 4 Shcpard Tremonfc was found guilty of petit larceny for the theft of an oil stove from George D. Lewis, and with tears in his eyes received a sentence of forty days in jail. Robert J. Powers and A. Thomas were found guilty of vagrancy and sentenced to thirtv.da3"s in jail. The two were arrested Monda- afternoon by Policeman Olsen in the eastern part of tho city. |
