Every resort has added from one to ten new features to attract the amusement seeking public, and all are . striving to make each placo tho best, i Probably the greatest amount of im- f provemcnts has oceu made at Saltan-, ! where nearly $50,000 has been spent in ; adding new attractions and in- other j , ways fixing up for tho coming summer. Heretofore the lower lloor on the Salt- air navilion has been badly crowded at x train times and on big days it has been almost impossible to movo about at all I 1 on tho floor. This problem has been entirely eliminated, by tho building of , many hundreds of feet of platform around the outer walls. Tho space bc- tween the main pavilion and the thea- . ter building has all been built in and this is also true of the space around tho 1 roller coaster, giving almost double tho t room, on the lower floor. In Expedite Bathing. ) The system of handling the bathing crowds "has also been changed, and l much improved. In seasons past tho '. entrance to tho bath house has been I X badly congested by the ingoing and out- v going crowds. This year bathers will I go in one entrance and como out anoth- f er and in this way tho two crowds will bo kept apart. ".Four hundred bath 1 houses have been taken from tho end of the row and brought up to shallow water. At tho present time the water ; "around the pavilion is about thrco icot . "Beep. 1 Tho rolling stock of tho company has been entirely overhauled and made new. t Prom thirty to fortj'-two trains a day will be ran in both directions, and all j : will be electric lighted. The manage ment intends that order shall bo preserved pre-served on the trains, and this 3ear an officer will accompany each train and if necessary each car. Tho music for the season will be furnished by Held's . band of twenty-fivo pieces. A new ' 'hanging band stand has been erected at ' . tho south end of the dancing pavilion I ; and tho old trouble of not being ablo if to hear the. music will bo obviated. At r the bicycle tTack there will bo two race ; meets a week and possibly moro. Band ll concerts will be given on the lower ' floor every evening during the dinner hour. The entire pavilion has been K treated to a new coat of paint and is looking fine. But littlo remains to bo X. "done before the resort is ready for busi ly ncsR. I" At Wandamere Manager McClelland L has spent a good deal of money and I lime in improving this popular family . resort. At the race track a new tender path. 120 yards iu length has "boon installed for the like of the ath- j -ietes. On the -west end of the lake a . frosh water bathing pool, 200 by 50 I ." fact,- has been put in. The water 1 .vranges from three and a half to seven ' I feet in depth. i The lovers of tennis will find Wanda- 1 mere an ideal place this summer. Here Y six Hue tennis courts have been made, 'and will be kept in excellent condition i for the use of the patrons of the re- "j sort. Manager McClelland has had the '!' golf players in mind, and has fixed , up- links for their use. Besides these ; new attractions there will be the old "popular merry-go-round for the chil- ,-'dren, an electric theater, chutes, boat- , ' ing and dancing, j At the mouth of Emigration canyon, about four miles east or the city, there , ..has been a new resort built, which ' will be iknown as "Emigration ; Canj'on Inn.'3 This will be opened to the public about Juno 1. The new resort re-sort will be under the management of the H. Wagner Brewing company, and -was built at a cost of $10,000. The new Emigration canyon railroad will be completed in about thirty days, and people will experience no trouble v in going to and from tho place. ;. Tasteful Building, i In' the main building will be an ex cellent dance floor, a new up-to-date cafe and a fine bar. The building is constructed of concrete, and is of the bungalow type, with a wide porch ' on the south side, fitted up with r tables for the convenience of the I visitors. On the west side, leading up I I to the saloon, will be a rustic arbor, I I where the hot hours of the day may I be spent in absolute comfort. The I grounds surrounding the building have been improved to a great extent, and L - n baseball field and tennis courts have I J . been made. Several years ago there H . was a garden at the brewery, but on ', ' account of the poor means or transpor- J " taiion it lost popular favor. 2vow that j .. railroad has been built to the can- J yon there is but littlo doubt that tho I l now resort will bo a great favorite this I j summer. It is in an ideal place, and I i where the cool breezes of the canyon j . make one forget the hot streets of 'tho 1 tiitv.
