Show PUNISHMENT INFLICTED IS WORSE THAN DEATH PHICTN, March 25. Seven men arrested ar-rested recently charged with trafficking in governmental secrets have ljeen found guilty and sentenced to long terms of imorisonmcnt. This punishment punish-ment is generally considered to be worse than death. Na Tung and Liang Tun-yeu. Tun-yeu. .members of the foreign board, were on the cqurt lhal handed down the sentences. It; would appear that the conspiracy against the government is fairly widespread, wide-spread, and the revelations within the last few days have considerably alarmed the court and the administration. No less than thirty important persons are now being held in custody, and it is reported that the chief of police of tho forbidden city is among this number.
