J. Moran Percival claims that the Council, in giving him such a batch of work, has eliminated nil the profitable part pi tho work and onlv left him tho difficult portions. He "had figured on the whole wnrk as about a $25,000 lob, and there is loft to him only the hard part at about $8000. Tho board could do nothing noth-ing in tho matter, as the work was ordered or-dered by the Council, and is covered oy Pcrcival's contract. It was tho opinion of tho members of the board that it was hardly fair to ask Mr. Percival to put in a piece of work which was composed of intersections, inter-sections, and tho Council may be asked to make an allowance for extras. Tho board gave :v contract to the Union Foundry company to supply steel fittings for the water main extensions on Fifth South at $780. The only other bidder was Hyrum Silver, .$815. |
