A bill has been Issued by Governor Gooding for a meeting meet-ing of the commission created by an act of the last session of the .Legislature- to arrange for a statue of the late United Stales Senator George L. Shoupe, to bo placed In Statuary hall In Washlngtonl to be held next Tuesday at the Slate houee. The members of the commission are: Governor Gooding, president; Senator Sen-ator Mcybum, Senator Borah, Congressman Congress-man French and Joseph Perrault, Tho meeting Is called for Tuesday bc-canso bc-canso Senator Hcyburn will be In Bolae at that time. The Legislature appropriated appro-priated $6000 for tho statue. Each State Is entitled to two statues In Statuary hall and tho statue of Senator Shoupo will be tho first ono from Idaho. . All the churches of Boise, headed by the Nazarcno church, are planning a great camp meeting to be held In a grovo near Lhls city the last part of August. Several noted evangelists are to take part in the meeting. The assistant Slate superintendent has jusl apportioned the State school fund received during Ihe last six months to the various counties 'of Idaho, an amount aggregating $118,343.11, the largent that has every accumulated In this fund for the name period. .-. - A man named Perkins has just been brought to tho penitentiary from Malad to serve one year for grand larceny. |
