Boyd and Joan Humphrey and family spent the day in Logan, with Joan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Smith. Dr. and Mrs. Max Conley and children left Wednesday fur a few days to visit Mrs, Conley's parents in Cedar City, Utah. Larry and Shirley William-sen William-sen and children enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with Mr and Mrs. L. C. Williamsen in Ogden, Thursday. Lew Smith, who has been farming in southern Utah this last year, returned home Nov. 25 to spend the holidays with his wife and family. Mrs. Beatrice Berry and family traveled to Denver, Colo, to visit her daughter over the week end. Mr. Berry is ' visiting with relatives in Mississippi at the present. Claude and Helen Jenkins and family drove to Newton, Thursday for the holidays, and Helen and her children, Paula, David and Denese remained re-mained in Newton with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Griffin, for a short visit. Claude left Saturday for the I Mr. and Mrs. Theron Borup entertained Theron's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Borup from Payette, Ida. and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Borup and their children of Provo and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Amoureux and children from Logan at their home on Thanksgiving day. Eugene and Freya Johnson were hosts to Ereya's parents and sister from Tooele, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Christensen and Mavis and Wayne Brink-erhoff Brink-erhoff and family. The sons of Wylo and Af-ton Af-ton Reynolds welcomed their sister Pat home from BYU college for the week end. Afton planned a family gathering gath-ering with her mother, Mrs. Jennie Bennett and her nephews Richard, Marvin and LaMar Burns. Viv and Orlean Clarkson held a family dinner for their children, Jerry and Karma Clarkson and Connie and Dale Capps and their five grandchildren. Helping Orlean Or-lean at home was Kaye, as Orlean " recently suffered a back injury from a fall downstairs. down-stairs. Joseph and Freda Wood entertained en-tertained an unusual gathering gather-ing for Thanksgiving day consisting of all the family and the in-laws. Present were Jack and Beverly Wood and Beverly's mother, Mrs. Beth Mounteer; Bill and Pat Peterson Pe-terson and Bill's mother, Mrs. Rose Peterson; Bill and Nan Wood and Nan's mother, Mrs. Jean Hoover. Freda Wood's father, Gustav Bushman and Joseph Wood's parents Herbert Her-bert and Clara Wood were also al-so present along with all the grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin West enjoyed a two day visit with their son, Dr. Franklin L. West Jr. of Boise, Idaho as he returned from a medical medi-cal convention in Chicago. ORCHARD CHURCH NEWS The Orchard ward Beehive girls under the direction of Laura Christensen visited at the home of Mrs. Josephine Holmes, a shut-in, and were enchanted with the book report re-port she gave, "Please Don't Eat the Daisies" Tuesday, Nov. 25. The Relief Societies of Orchard Or-chard first and second each held an interesting panel discussion dis-cussion on laws of the land. Participating members of the panel from Orchard one under un-der the direction of Cleo Breinholt were Clarissa Fol-ger, Fol-ger, Betty Burrell, Eris Holmes, Hol-mes, Jean Allbrand, and Jo-Ann Jo-Ann Wilson. Susie Walser's panelists from the second included Patty Tea, Helen Morley, Merle Christensen, Margaret Nelson, Mona Jensen and Joan Humphrey. The programs "Praise Ye The Lord", were presented in both Orchard wards by individual in-dividual ward members and were claimed a success. Al and Ann Summerhays directed direct-ed the performance for the second with 90 MIA members in the chorus. The presidencies, presiden-cies, John Bangerter and Mrs. Payne gave ample assistance. Orchard one had for their able leaders, Henry Robinson and Doris Boggess with Mary anne and John May as drama tic leaders. Jean Allbrand directed di-rected the singing and Leah Peterson and Orson Folger, the1 presidents, directed the programs r gess who is serving as a missionary mis-sionary in Redford, Virginia. John and Millie Bangerter served as hosts to Millies parents par-ents and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jones and their three boys, on Thursday. Also as their guest was Millie's uncle, Clarence Geiger from Kansas. He came to Salt Lake for the funeral of Millies great aunt, Mrs. Sarah Brandt Odell, whose funeral was held in Salt Lake, Monday, Nov. 24. John and Millie were also in attendance. Carl and LaNelda Wright were hosts to their family Mrs. Vance Humphrey and children and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Brown and family. Jack Johnson, who has been working in Wyoming is still confined in bed with ser ious illness. Mrs. Ester Johnson, John-son, a registered nurse who operates the North Yard hospital hos-pital for the Union Pacific Railroad, has been giving him excellent care. Gviests of Earl and Edna Bailey were Edna's mother, Mrs. Heber Christensen and sister, Marg and Joe and their five children. The Baileys Bail-eys son, Edgel and Veda Bailey and children also enjoyed en-joyed the dinner on Thursday Shirl and Colleen Hales who are building a new home in North Salt Lake, were involved in-volved in an accident in I Bountiful recently. Colleen suffered a brain concussion and several other bad bruises. Brown, a naval career man, from San Francisco spent the week here. Mrs. Alethia Nat-tress, Nat-tress, 85 year old grandmother grandmoth-er of Kenneth, from Clover, Utah, returned home Tuesday Tues-day after spending five days with the Tippitts. Also Mary has helped prepare her nephew, LeRoy Elliot from Reno, Nev., for his testimonal Nov. 30 to be held in West Bountiful. He will enter the mission home Dec. 1. Mary's sister, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Elliot and daughter La Vern of Reno, Nev. arrived in Utah Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Kefford Jones welcomed home Mrs. Jones brother, Andrew Iverson, from a 2 year mission in Norway on Nov. 27. He flew in from the east coast to spend Thanksgiving at the Jones' residence with his mother, Mrs. Vennes Iverson and his twin brother, Amasa and wife Shirley. Marie Hutchinson Hut-chinson was also the guest of Andrew Iverson and Mrs. Jones. Bishop and Mrs. Stillman Harding honored Floyd and LaPriel James at their home Nov. 22. Floyd has served as ward clerk . and LaPriel was organist of the Orchard second sec-ond ward. The James' have moved to Salt Lake. David Scott USAF and wife Alice visited with Alice's parents, Ken and Pearl Hier this week as they were being transferred from Cheyenne, Wyo. to Riverside, Calif. Mrs. Mabel Scott entertained en-tertained Mr. and Mrs. Ken Rier, Sgt. and Mrs. David Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hier and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott Sunday at her home in Salt Lake for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner. They were honored at the Hier home Wednesday evening and then they left for California Thursday morning. morn-ing. Doris Boggess was pleased to receive as a birthday surprise, sur-prise, a telephone call on Nov. 25, from her son Kent Bog- Last Saturday, Hillside Gardens welcomed another family into its midst. Reid and Carol Lloyd and son Scott moved into the home at 67 South 250 Sast. Carol is Kent Allbrands' sister. Arnold and Betty Thompson Thomp-son are also newcomers. They occupy the new home at 27 South 300 East at Hillside Gardens. Mrs. Ida Lubbers visited in-Newton in-Newton with her brother! ' Inar Peterson over the week end. Mrs. Hazel Todd, a former resident of North Salt Lake, now residing in Brigham City visited with Orlean Clarkson, Saturday, Nov. 22. Welcome is also extended to Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen and their three children Jean nie, Paul and Marry Ann. They occupy the former Neal Mann home. Richard Rawlings suffered severe head injuries while fixing his garage door. The spring broke loose on the door and knocked him sev- Bishop and Mrs. Sti.'lman Harding and family spent Thursday visiting with Mrs. Harding's mother, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Cook of Roy. Preston Brown, foster son of the Harciings broke his arm on the snow last Monday. . The children from Opportunity Oppor-tunity center for Multiple Retarded Re-tarded and Handicapped Children Chil-dren of North Salt Lake under un-der the direction of Agnes Knapton and Beatrice Willis held a Thanksgiving party Wednesday, Nov. 26.
