Lovesy, president of the Beekeepers' association, discussed tho splendid opportunities offered of-fered In tho "West for live, progressive men of energy nnd Intelligence. Referring especially to opportunities offered settlers in Idnlio. Mr. Lovesy said: "The Snake River valley in the Gem State Is an ideal location for the. cultivation cultiva-tion of Align r beets, potatoes, grains, alfalfa alfal-fa and the like, and is also excellently situated for the enlargement, of the bee or honey Industry. I have recently returned re-turned from a visit to my son, who Is route agent for the Pacific K.vpress company com-pany at Pocatello. and while there I Investigated In-vestigated conditions generally. The Snake River valley is about 100 miles wide and runs through the Stale for a distance of nearly 350 miles. Fine Farming Country. 'The river percolates a. magnificent farming country and there is no scarcity of water nr any point. Snalce river, from where It enters Idaho lo the point where It rroj-ses the lino Into Oregon, drops 5930 feel. Thero Is a radical difference in the climate of the upper and lower parts of the valley. The lower part of the valley, from Twin Falls down, Is. a section especially es-pecially adnpted for vines and stone fruits. I believe the valley, from American Ameri-can Fails up, possibly as far as Si. Anthony. An-thony. Is one of the best apple-producing districts in the State There are also other oth-er locations in the State favorable io the apple crop and small fruits. The Bee Industry.
