Show BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETS Inter-School Athletics to Be Under Control Con-trol of Teachers. A special meeting of the Board of Educatiou was held at noon Thursday. Tho following- teachers were appointed: Claire Camp, Annio Mclutyre, Ella llay-worth, llay-worth, Eva Pitcher, JIaybellc K. Flem-ming Flem-ming aud .Tennio Davis. A resolution was introduced and adontcd which provides that when tho maximum salary of $160 has beeu attained at-tained by any principal no reduction in the same shall take place by reason of assignment except ior causes specifically spe-cifically stated by tho board. Tho following fol-lowing principals were named for the maximum salary: A. S. "Martin, William Bradford, L. Al. Qualtrough, E. S. Hal-lock, Hal-lock, J. H. Coombs. W. S. Wallace. W. W. Barton, J. O. Cross, H. B. Folsom, D. A. Nelson, F. D. Keeler, W. J. McCoy, Mc-Coy, Oscar Van Cott. The payroll of principals, teachers, 3nd the superintendent, amounting to $17,687.16, was passed. The warrants will bo issued today. Tho committee appointed at the last meeting of tho principals for the purpose pur-pose of taking action toward having the athletic work of the schools under tho direction of the principals, submitted sub-mitted the following report to tho board: That all matters relating to Intorschool athletics in the elementary schools shall bo under tho direct control and supervision of a board ot athletic control, whsch shall consist o five person?, who shall act under un-der authority from the Superintendent of Schools. Tho committco further recommends that tho board for 1906-1007 shall bo composed of tho following porsons; J. O. Cross, Martha Mar-tha J. Johnson, 1. N. Toulson, Almy O. Clayton, Clay-ton, Evelyn Roilly. W. S. WALLACE, A.-S. MARTIN. ETTA POWERS, Committee. The report of tho committco was adopted and a meeting of the captains aud managers of all grade school fodt-ball fodt-ball teams is called for this afternoon at -1 o'clock in tho Hall of Representatives Represen-tatives at the city aud county building. |
