The company is capitalized for 500,000 shares of a par value of $5 each, 100,000 shares of which are in tho treasury. 1 W. S. McCornick is the president of Hf tho Western Utah Copper company, 1 Ca.pt. Duncan McYichic is vicc-prcsi- dent, H. H. Green i secretary and treasurer. These gentlemen, with 33. j L. White, president of tho Bingham Consolidated company, F. Augustus Hcinze, Henry N. Sweet and Judge fl .John A. Street, will constitute the board of diroctors. It is understood that this company is genoronsly pro-vided pro-vided with funds from within td pro-cccd pro-cccd with the present plans of develop-ment develop-ment work without reeorting to plac- Bj ing any of the stock of tho company either upon the market or to private interests. The 'Western Utah Copper company ip the new name for Gold Hill, under -which titlo tho group of the organiza-rion organiza-rion has been known in the past. Little is known generally in Salt Lake regarding tho Gold Hill group owiug to the carefully guarded manner in which the operators nave pursued their labors. To a few, however, tho truth long has been a matter of appreciation, and it has been known to this few that tho Gold Hill properties were amoug the choicest in the entire State. Dc-velopment Dc-velopment v.-ork has been going on for H many months, but tho operators had many things to close before they could take the public into their conftdence. It is thought that tho present organiza-fion organiza-fion would remain a secret for some' time to come were it not for the fact that the story leaked out from tho Boston end. The Gold hill properties are located fl in the Deep Creek country, and they consist of 36-i acres of splendid terri- lory. The Western Pacific railroad will come within thirty miles of the mine, while the rumors regarding tho plans of the Salt Lake Eoute all point to tho fl fact that the region of Deep Creek will B fooii be ono of tho favored terri lories of tho Stale from a railroad standpoint. The owner? of the group of claims have developed home snrpris-ing snrpris-ing tonnages and values in thoir posses-hions, posses-hions, and it is understood that tlieri aro at least 100,000 tons of ore blocked out which Avill carrv excellent copper, B nilver and gold values. Some of the B handsomest specimen .of copper ore pvr found in Utah have been brought ;'o Salt Lake from this group during the B present year, and there is a splendid B future before this organization. The organization of this company means much to tho prouiiueut Salt Lake and Boston capitalists interested. But tho chief import of this company and those composing it is the apparent fact that the long de-sired de-sired era for Deep Creek is dawning. It has been predicted for years that large capital will jump at Dcen Creek properties ah soon as their mcrit havo been realized. The advent of this organization, therefore, may be taken as the pioneer effort to corrall the B properties of Deep. Crock. The railroads fl -will follow, there is no doubt of that, and Deep Creek, in all likelihood, will be tho scene of Utah 'h next mining rxcitcmcut without much waste of time, and as bus been predicted so ofton, this district when treated to a season of uenuino mining, will not have to lower its colors to any iu the whole State.
