Jan. 11 The case of the three alleged coal thieves who were arrested In the act of delivering alleged stolen coal to the residence of P. T. Smyth on Tuesday morning was continued today in Judge Murphy's court, the officers having som del. til evidence t to look up. it will come up again on Friday at 10 o'clock, when the Oregon Short Line will become a party. The charges against George Hurke, one of the three alleged ''sure-thing' men I- arrested by Deputy Sheriff Harlow Wil son, was dismissed. Burke's two alleged associates have been given sentences, one being permitted to leave town and tie-other tie-other now serving thirty days in the city jail. |
