ALABAMA WOMEN ARE OPPOSING PROHIBITION MONTGOMERY, Ala.; Nov, IS. The presence of ladies using their influence against tho passage of a State prohibition prohi-bition bill wits a novelty enjoyed by the members of the Legislature today. The bill has already passed the House. Tho women appealed to Senators to kill tho measure, or amend it to make it effective effec-tive not earlier than 1010. Tho first on the ground were Mrs, E. Scnimes Coliton, daughter of a Confederate Admiral: .Raphael Semmes and Miss Kirkland, who, as officers of the Mobile Mo-bile schools, say the loss of tho saloon taxes wili make it impossible to carry on tho schools.
