' When Piorcc, who is described as a credulous and unsophisticated young man, peered into the coflin, Miss Treml raised up and frigli toned him so badly that ho observed that no girl who would bo a party to such a snide trick could be virtuous. It is also nllcgod that he applied sevoral opprobrious epithets epi-thets to the men who arranged the ghastly denouement. Osborn took ox ccption to some of these imprecations, and is said to have stalked young Pierce, repeatedly demanding an apology, apolo-gy, which was not forthcoming. Tho crisis was reached when Osborn attacked at-tacked and floored him. It was in this position of disadvantage that Pierce drew his revolver and sent a ball into Osborn that killod him instantly. Shortly before coming to Salt Lake Miss Treml, who is 20 years old, is alleged al-leged to havo alienated the affections or a man named Bosscrman, to such an extent that his wife first tried to commit com-mit suicide, and later flashed a pistol at the girl who was tho author of her domestic infelicity. It was .ist after this occurrence that JBosscrman went from Denver lo Nevada, and Miss Treml came to this city, where she remained re-mained only a short while, ostensibly leaving here to join him. |
