Show WALLACE PEOPLE III POLICE COURT Charged With Malicious Mischief Mis-chief in Burning Short Line Freight Car. Abraham and Gussie Wallace were in tho police court Thursday morning to answer a charge of malicious mischief mis-chief preferred against them by the Oregon Short Li10 Railr.oad companj-. Thcy are accused of setting fire to a carload of merchandise in the railroad yards on January 17. Soren X. Chris-tensen Chris-tensen represented the defendants and County Attorne3' Hanson appeared for the State. An array of 1(3 witnesses was marshalled mar-shalled for the State, all of them being be-ing employees of the company, except the officors who had made the arrest f tho Wallaces. The testimony disclosed dis-closed that Mrs. Wallace had billed tho car out on the 17th, and ihat later on the same day it had been discovered to be on fire. One witness, William Coles, said he had entered tho car after the fire had started and found a 5-gal-lon can of coal oil Hiirroundcd h3' wood, picture frames and other combustible com-bustible materials.
