High prices of wool and a steady falling off ln the demand for woolen goods are responsible for tho closing down of the Provo Woolen Mills, the board of directors direc-tors having decided to take this action as soon as the stock on hand is worked up. This action of tho board will throw out of employment about ISO hands and will seriously affect tho prosperity of Provo. Tho action of the bonrd will not, however, how-ever, be a surprise to those who havo watched the upward tendency of tho woolen market nnd tho growing demands for worsted goods. This decrease in tho demand for woolen goods has been noted all over the country, and manufacturers have been using more and moro cotton In the manufacture of worsteds.
