Show TELEGRAPH BUSINESS STEADILY INCREASING So Says E. J. Nally, an Official of Postal Company, Now in Salt Lake. E. J. Xolly and wlfo of Chicago arc registered at tho Knutaford hotel. Mr. Nally Is general superintendent of the J'ostal telegraph, and ho Is JiiHt completing complet-ing an Inspection of tho offices of the company lying between Chicago and Salt Lake Clly. Llko many other men who hold1 high positions, Mr. Nally began life ns a messenger, and Is n graduato of the "key." Thirty yeaiH ago he was office boy of thn present president of the AVeHtr in Union Telegraph company, Robort C. Clowry. Business Increasing-. According to Mr. Nally, the 'business of the Postal Telegraph company Is rapidly Increasing, a new office being established dally. Ho states that tho opcratlonH of the company are especially satisfactory In the Western country. Local Operations Large. As to Salt Lako City. Mr. Nally states that tho local business of the last two weeks has been the largest since the com-pnny com-pnny began operations hero, and the Importance Im-portance of the Salt Lako office will be greatly increased with tho completion of work at present underway, which should bo finished within tho next six weeks. New Lines West. Tho company Is at present Increasing its facilities from Salt Lake to Portland and Seattle, by adding two more wires to tho trunk line operating north from here. Tho completion of this work will make the local office a repeating point of the overland route, for all business to tho Pacific const and Northwestern points, as well as for the cable service to the Orient. Extending- Cable. Arrangements arc being made, Mr. Nally Rtates, for the extension of tho company's Pacific cable from Guam to Yokohama and from Manila to Hongkong. Hong-kong. l-Yom San Francisco tho cable goes to Honolulu, thonco to the Midway Island, to Guam, to Manila.
