Funeral services were ionducted Sunday in. the Vernal florid Ward at 1 p. m., by Bish- - ip John Hair. Mr. Curry was a ' ominent business man in Verb-al and Ouray and a member of 'ie 1939 state legislature. J Miss Marie Knapp of Salt Lake, 1 ! ; recently returned from a visit to New York City, Glen Krueger of Mason City, Iowa, and Claude Huffman were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mead Tuesday. Mrs. Albert Ray was hostess to the Kopperette Klub at her home on Cyprus street Tuesday evening. Christmas gifts were exchanged among the members and Five Hundred was enjoyed by the following ladies: Mrs. Mel-vi- n Olsen, Mrs. E. J. Cowdell, Mrs. Frank Finnis, Mrs. Ernest Nichols, Mrs. Orval Warner, Mrs. Robert Streator, Mrs. Bud Nichol, and Mrs. Dewey Mayne. Prizes were won by Mrs. Bud Nichol, Mrs. Streator and Mrs. Finnis. The festive theme was carried in the refreshments. Mrs. James Denver entertained at a one o'clock luncheon Mon-day. During the afternoon bridge was indulged in by Mrs. Frank Mead, Mrs. Heber Nichols and Mrs. C. F. Sullengcr. Mrs. Nich-ols held high score. Tuesday evening the members of the Y.L.M.I.A. and the Y.M.M. IA. enjoyed a special Christmas program in the grade school audi-torium. The entertainment mark-ed the completion of the work outlined for the year, 1939. The program consisted of the follow-ing numbers: Vocal solo, Joe Brown; vocal duet, Dahrl Davis and Carolyn Deitrich; trumpet duet, Weldon Caldwell and Glen Draper; vocal solo, Mrs. B. D. Bennion; girls trio, Marzetta Col-ya- r, Mildred Warner and Dar-len- e Nix and a moving picture, "The King of Kings", depicting the life of Christ during his min-ister'. After the program a danc-ing party was planned and light refreshments served. Mrs. Frank Mead had as her iuncheon guests Tuesday after-noon Mrs. James Denver and Mrs. M. A. Stuart of Sandy. Nine members of her Five Hundred club met at the home of Mrs. E. J. Cowdell on Thurs-day afternoon as a surprise on her birthday anniversary. Cards and refreshments served as en-tertainment for Mrs. Bud Nichol, Mrs. Albert Ray, Mrs. Melvin Olsen, Mrs. Ernest Nichols, Mrs. Orval Warner, Mrs. Frank Fin-nis, Mrs. Dewey Mayne and Mrs. Robert Streator. A most interesting program was given under the auspices of the Y.M.M.I.A. last Sunday ev-ening during the sacrament meet-ing, with Counselor Charles Crawford in charge. Incidents in the life of Joseph Smith were given by Bruce Christensen, Bet-ty Long and Kenneth Poulson. Guest speaker of the evening was Mr. Wright, recently returned from the Australian Mission and Mr. Gunderson, member of the Salt Lake tabernacle choir, ren-dered two vocal solos. Both are from the Mill Creek Ward. pupils to read. The staff is planning to pub-lish an issue of the ts each month until the close of school. B H S JUNIOR HIGH PARTY The officers of the Junior high school are planning a Christmas party including the seventh, eighth, and ninth grades. It will take place on Thursday, Decem-ber 21, 1939. The afternoon will be started by a matinee dance after which refreshments will be served. An enjoyable afternoon will be con-cluded by singing Christmas Car-ols. Those on the committee for the party are: Refreshments, Har-ry Watkins; music, Amelia Sas-ic- h; finance, Faye McKellar. Paul Richards O BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOLMJTES BINGHAM STUDENTS TO CAROL TONIGHT "Oh, Come All Ye Faithful" to carol with the music classes of the Bingham high school, Fri-day evening. The glee clubs will congregate in Bingham Canyon that even-ing and will fill the canyon with sweet Yuletide carols. Forty stu-dents are expected to participate. The caroling will be accom-panied by violins as well as oth-er instruments. The carol, "Holy City", will be played as a trum-pet duet. . The carolers will make their first stop at Carr Fork, another by the Princess Theatre, one by the post office, another at the Bingham Central school and by Freeman and the last stop will be in lower Bingham. At the conclusion of their carol-ing the students will be treated with a Christmas party. s FIRST EDITION OF BINGHAM IS EDITED The first edition of the Bing-ham ts will be distribut-ed Friday. The paper promises to be a big success as it will be packed full of school activities. It will contain two editorials, an article on our football champ-ionship, events in the speech, gym and music departments. The contributing editors have sub-mitted articles on the activities of the Pep, Minors, G.A.A. and Camera clubs. There are several featured ar-ticles entitled, "Can You Im-agine" "Our Alphabet", "Know Your Football Champions", "The Personality Parade", and last, but not least, is a page of spicy gossip. . An issue will be given to each senior high, student and there will be several editions placed in the library for the junior high Dear Santa Clans I want a doll I want a set ot dishes I want a nurse set I want a crib.
