Dec. 5 The Supreme court of Louisiana has suppressed sup-pressed the name of the woman who Is plaintiff In a slander suit, and the general gen-eral public will never know who the woman Is. In a decision handed down the judgment judg-ment against Harry Hort of Shreve-port, Shreve-port, to pay a fine of 1000 and to serve two years of hard work on the public roads of the State has Just been confirmed con-firmed by the Louisiana Supreme court. By whom the complaint was brought no one knows, with the exception excep-tion of Hart ur.d th trial court. Everywhere In the records a woman's wo-man's name appears as Miss , whoever who-ever she is, and it Is generally supposed sup-posed that she Is a society girl of Shreveport, la. She charged that Hart sent an insulting note to her. In the law courts she appeared heavily veiled and her Identity has never becoma known. The laws of Louisiana give the presiding pre-siding Judge of any court the right to exclude the name of a party who would be Injured still more by the publication pub-lication of his or her name. This Is the first Instance In recent years In which this right of the Injured party has been used. |
