Tho politicians aro making less nolao and putting forth special efforts to have tholr friends nttend tho primaries, which aro to bo held Auirust 19 and 20. The frlonds to County Recorder H. S. Pyno were surprised today when ho announced an-nounced publicly that ho was not out for any nomination at tho coming coun-tj coun-tj convention. Thcro has been considerable consider-able talk that there would be a move mado to have tho delegates from Utah county support him for Stato Treasurer, tho argument being that It would eliminate elim-inate tho fight being waged upon Glazier and make It certain for Utah county to land tho nomination. Others brought strong pressure upon Mr. Pyno to accept ac-cept a renominatlon for his present position. posi-tion. But it Is now announced that ho Is not a candidate for any office, either county or Slate. This started several rumors ru-mors as to tho futuro Intentions of Mr. Pyno. but when asked for a statement ho smiled and snld. "I havo nothing to say." This action of Pyno In withdrawing from tho race for County Recorder leaves tho field froo to Ed L. Jones, presont deputy recorder. Mr. Jones Is well qualified qual-ified for the position, having had four years' experience ns deputy. Mr. Jones enjoys a peculiar alstinctlon he has no opposition. He is perhaps tho only of-fico-soeker In this county who has not from two to four opposing candidates. Tho Democrats aro beginning to wako up and. Judging from reports given at tho Democratic committee mooting, tho various va-rious organizations throughout the county coun-ty aro becoming active. Ono member reported re-ported tho number of votos each party would receive this fall. A fair representation represen-tation was present. Tho tlmo and place for holding the Judicial convention will bo fixed by a commltteo composed of delegates from the three counties concerned, con-cerned, at somo date in the near futuro. Tho county convention will bo held Sep-tomber Sep-tomber 15 at Provo. Tho apportionment of delegates from each precinct for tho county convention will be one delegate for every twelve votes cast for W. H. King at tho last goneral election. This apportionment will glvo tho county convention a membership of 373 delegates. It was tho desire of tho commltteo that the precinct primaries should bo held not later than September 10. Each pmclnct may elect tho delegates to tho State convention, tho Judicial convention con-vention and tho county convention at tho same primary. Maj. Sam King was authorized to appoint ap-point a commltteo on organization for tho purpose of taking charge of the preliminary prelim-inary work leading up to the campaign. Andrew Morgan and W. H. McBrlde woro appointed ns members of this committee, Morgan to act as chairman and McBrldo secretary. Othor members will bo announced an-nounced later. Mr. King explained tho object of tho meeting, stating tho matter connected with tho coming county and State conventions con-ventions would bo considered. The apportionment ap-portionment for delegates to the State convention would bo one dolecato for every seventy votes cast for W. II. King at Uio last National election. 0 Grant Simons.
