L C C. was presented as a transfer from the Canyon City Colorado club George A A. Evans from the Bingham Canyon club and Frank Burns was presented as a new member All of these men were heartily received by bythe bythe bythe the club membership Also present present pres- pres ent was Zone chairman Jay Re of Syracuse Committee reports were made by Lion Clyde McFarlane and Charles Trump Lion McFarlane made a final report on the Turkey Shoot held in November and turned over to the club a avery avery avery very well received and sizeable check as a result of the efforts of his committee This activity is the biggest traditional money raising project of the club anc and much of the success of their civic activities depends on the success of the turkey shoot All of the proceeds of these fund raising activities are spent in the interest interest interest inter inter- est and welfare of the community community community in civic projects sponsored by the club so that the favorable report submitted by chairman McFarlane should bear fruit in more community projects by the Lions club Lion Trump reported on the progress of his assignment in the seeking of a location for a contemplated contemplated con con- community fireplace and barbecue pit He reported that a tentative site in the vicinity vicinity vicinity vicin vicin- ity of the Youth Center had been decided upon and that actual location was awaiting as asto asto asto to the necessary size of the plot needed to the fire fire- place LIon Smith reported that me the February 8 meeting would feature feature feature fea fea- ture a farm exchange student and that it would be an inter- inter club meeting with the North Salt Lake club and that the meeting on February 22 would be with the district governor present Lion program chairman Kim introduced Mr Stacey as the speaker of the evening Mr Ir Stacey himself a blind man gave thanks on behalf of the blind for the Lions Lion's activity with blind people and especially for their participation in the annual party held for the blind each year He then went on to bring to the minds of all the development development develop develop- ment and changing conditions of Bount Bountiful ul in the past twenty-five twenty years and some of the problems that face its ts citizens as a result of these changes He stressed the importance of the Lions Lion's club as asa asa asa a powerful influence in developing develop develop- ing the cha character acter of the youth Continued on page page 8 BOUNTIFUL NEWS l MILDRED CHRISTENSEN I 1 e Telephone 1442 I Vv V l 1 v The members of the ward choir met on Saturday for an evening of entertainment Games were played throughout the evening evening eve- eve ning ping at the conclusion of oc which delicious refreshments were I i served The choir has rehearsal each Sunday at 4 pm p.m. and all allward yard ward members arc invited to at at- tend Work has begun on a canto canta can- can ta to to be presented at Easter time N.
