Larsen representing represent represent- ing the Davis County School Board appeared before the council council council coun coun- cil and explained plans to build a new elementary school building building building build build- ing in the southeast part of Bountiful He said the board has an option on 11 acres of the property at approximately approximately approximately 12 North and the west westside westside westside side of East street Approval has been made to purchase the theland theland theland land if Bountiful city can make satisfactory aid on bringing in needed water sewer sewer and utility lines and aid in surfacing the road This location would put the school about one mile from Stoker school and almost in the middle of many of the new subdivisions subdivisions subdivisions sub sub- divisions being built or already completed Mr l Larsen told the councilmen plans have been sent to the federal government and the board is expecting well hoping anyhow to receive the OK at anytime The seat of learning would be about like the I Adelaide school in Orchard Board members hope for a 14 unit building but may have to settle for a seven unit now and anda a seven unit addition later Mr Larsen said Mayor George K Fadel reported reported reported re re- re- re ported on a meeting he had with Kippen brothers who graze sheep on the mountains near the city water shed east of ful Last summer their sheep got into the city's land eating much of the cover When a runoff runoff runoff run run- off occurs the water is filled with debris The mayor said it itis itis itis is possible the city owns owns enough property in the water-shed water to keep the sheep away from the area where the harm is done To find out for sure the land will have to be surveyed and checked If there is not enough land the Kippen brothers indicated that they might be willing to trade or lease other land from the city which would put the sheep away from the water Representatives Representatives
