For tho alienation of tho affection of her husband, Horold Smith, Ethel Williams Smith begun suit yesterday yester-day against her father-in-law, Wln-throp Wln-throp Smith, tho banker, for S25.O0O. Tho plaintiff if n tall, beautiful woman of the blonde type, was married to the banker's Bon in Juno, 1903, at Wilmington, Wilming-ton, Del., without the knowledge or consent con-sent of either of their parents. It is said that Banker Smith was very wroth when he learned that his son had contracted a secret marriage and at once resorted to every means in his power In an endeavor to bring about a separation of the young couple. Attor the marriage the young man took his wife to apartments at Fifty-eighth street and Girard avenue- and studiously held aloof from his father, who had refused re-fused to recognize his bride.
