Show CITIZENS OF MURRAY WILL HAVE POSTOFFICE The present mail service in Murray is said to bo very unsatisfactory, and the citizens o.f that placo aro making every posslble effort to have a postoffico of their own. At present the Murray office Is a branch of tho Salt Lako office, and all their mall, both incoming and outgoing, outgo-ing, is handled through this office. Tho pcoplo are subjected to more or less delay de-lay In the receipt of their mall, which under tho' present arrangement Is transported trans-ported to and from Murray on the street cars. It is argued that tho service -would not only be bettor for them, but that it would relieve the Salt Lako office of a ccn.sider.able amount of labor in the present pres-ent unnecessary handling of so much mall matter. Tho agitation for a new office has been I going on for a number of years, but as yet tho Government has not seen fit to establish an Independent office at that place. The citizens, one and all. are in favor of the local handling of the mall, and cannot understand why their letters ami packages cannot be sent direct without with-out llrst coming to this city. Since the Incorporation of tho city last fall Ihe people say they have still more reason for insisting upon a separate office. They have ,i city nt their own now. and see no further reason for being tied to Salt Lake. Some time ago a long petition was prepared, setting forth their want In this respect. It wan signed by nearly every citizen of tho place, and word received by Tho Tribune lat night is to tho effect that the petition has been received by Senator Kf-arns In Washington. The Senator Sen-ator will undoubtedly .seo that the rights of tho Murrayltes ure respected by the National Government. |
