Show DEMOCRATIC POW-WOW. COMMITTEE IS ARRANGING FOR THE NATIONAL CONVENTION IN CITY OF ST. LOUIS. St. Iouls, Feb. 2. Pursuant to call, the committee on arrangements for tho Democratic Dem-ocratic nallonnl convention mot hero at tho Southern hotel today. The committee probably will be In session ses-sion two days, perfecting arrangements for the convention, looking over the piano of tho local committees and providing for the allotment of tickets. A visit to tho Coliseum, whero tho convention con-vention Is to be held, was mado today. A cominlttoo from the Business Men's leagufi met with the committee and explained ex-plained tho preparations that had been made, especially In regard to hotel rates. The assurance was given that there would be no advanco In tho rates now In forco Most of the afternoon was spent In a close personal Inspection of tho Coliseum. Coli-seum. The committee unanimously adopted a resolution expressing satisfaction with the arrangements made by tho local committee com-mittee rclatlvo to accommodations and tho rates to bo charged. Tho resolution, which was offered by Senator Stone, follows: fol-lows: "Resolved. That tho proposition submitted sub-mitted by Mr. C. W Knapp, chairman of the local hotel committee relative to rates and dates Is considered reasonablo and Is entirely satisfactory to tho committee, and In Its opinion will be satisfactory to tho public." |
