Watkins said FIRST STEP This marks the first step on a major reclamation project in Utah since Deer Creek was initiated over 16 years ago I 1 like to recall that it also was Republican sponsored Republican sponsored legislation I which this 80 million project in 1949 and which the president finally approved but with great reluctance Sen Watkins said it was gratifying gratifying gratify gratify- ing that years of hard work and effort had resulted in such suc suc- cess Once the project is underway he said I 1 have no doubt that Congress will make construction money available to carry carry- the project over each year until it is is completed USE OF MONEY The funds when made available available available avail avail- able will be used for general investigation investigation investigation in in- drafting of plans and initial construction on the following following follow follow- ing divisions 1 Enlargement of Pine View dam and reservoir 2 Wanship dam and reservoir 3 Gateway canal 4 4 Davis aqueduct 5 5 Miscellaneous drainage 50 and another for other miscellaneous activities |
