Show THINKS ME WAS BUNCOED Murray Hotel Man Looking for Man Whose Check Did Not Maize Good at the Bank John 1V Beck proprietor of the Bock hotel at Murray went to Ogden last night with Sheriff Layne of Vcber comty In search of a man named 31 E VIInon who he believes swindled him out of 100 by a clever scheme The Salt Lake police also are looking for Wilson Vl son It la presumed Is looking oul for himself This li the dorplaid plot by which the hundred Is said to have boon ocurcd Thuisday afternoon the man Wilson wf nt to the cnnJilor of a local bank and Bald he wanted to t open an account lie had fi27il In National Bank of Commerce Com-merce at Kansa City he Huh and desired de-sired to get it transferred Tho cashier made out a 1 check on the Kansas Tlly bank which he asked Wllron lo sign and explained that as soon as the money mon-ey was sent on he would give a deposit clip or book to show that It was thereat there-at Wilsons disposal Later In the day heck called at tine bank and Inquired l If I Wilson had an account there saying the latter had offered to loan him some money The cafihler wondered at the request but did not feel called upon to go Into detailed de-tailed explanations merely stating to Bock that Wilson had no money then on deposit but probably would have soon Yesterday Wilson came to the banlc again lo ask further about the transfer of lib money saying Bock was to meet him there io fix up a loan lie went away shortly and a little later Beck came and presented a check for 510 signed by Wilson Of course payment was refused and the circumstances of Wilsons dealings with the banlc were explained Beck who had given Wilson his note for six months fur 100 In exchange for the check then began to realize that he had been buncoed Wilson had been boarding with him and claimed lo be employed at the Murray smellers During Dur-ing the day he disappeared Beck laid the t case before the police and later went to Ogden to continue the search there |
