the Board of Education l last night new officers for the next two years were elected The only change was In the presidency to which E W Wilson was elected to succeed President Nelden who refused to accept a rcnomlnation Crltchlow nominated Wilson Moylo named Barn berger who dec ined and seconded the I nomination oC Wilson Young named Newman who declined Walker suggested sug-gested n renomlnation for Nelden who declined The vote was Wilson 8 Newman Young 1 The rules were suspended and the clerk instructed to cast a unanimous vote for Newman for vlceprcsldem which was done Bamberger named J B Morelon to succeed himself as clerk and spoke In I eulogistic terms of loreton The rules I were suspended and the president by instruction cast the unanimous vote of the board for Moreton Bamberger said Josiah Rarnclt had agreed if i reelected treasurer to furnish fur-nish the board with whatever overdraft I It might leriulre free of Interest and act as heretofore without compensation ton The years ELECTION RESOLUTION PASSED I the board decides lo close the schools for a month on account of the smallpox epidemic it may obviate the necessity of the board borrowing money mon-ey However that may be the resolution resolu-tion calling an election for January 20th to empower the board to borrow 52n 000 to enable the schools to be kept open the full school year o nine months was unanimously adopted The resolution Gets forth that the boards funds will fall short of its necessities ne-cessities owing lo the lowering of the assessed value of property in the city and that without 20000 more the schools can only be kept l open eight months Instead of nine The qualified electors al the last city election will be entitled to vote There will b five pollIng Ing places one In each precinct o
