Show ROUTE OF BURLiN rON Surveys Indicate it Will be by Way of Ogden WORK OF THE ENGINEERS 1 I It Is Expected that the Line Will bo I Built by Way of Chnlk Cresk and Morgan Valley Which Will Pines it Higher Than Union Pacific Negotiations for Terminal Faclli I ties In Ogden Another Construe tion Contract to bo Lei When Right of Way Matteis Are Adjusted j I The people of Ogden and tributary I i tcirltory lake the greatest intie1 In the movements of the Burlington Surveyors have been In that vicinity oft and on all summer anil havp recently re-cently been running lines and setting I stakes almost within a stones throw of tho Union station The general Impression Im-pression gained from those who have followed all the moves made is that tho line will come via Chalk creek I and Morgan valley which will place I the line higher up than the TJnlon I Pacific The survey comes Into Ogden along the I southern streets and runs I up Wall avenue to the cast of the I Union station Some parties arc now busily though quietly negotiating for a fine lot a i block and a half cast of the entrance Ito I-to the station The line leaves for Salt Lake south of the Union station It is now generally conceded that tho road will build right through and I in the opinion of several railroad menthe men-the Bamberger road will surely be I fc utilized to gain an entrance to Salt Lake This would at least give the Burlington as good a passenger terminus ter-minus here as that held by any other I road and for freight terminals It could secure land at some other point For shops the road could go out to North Salt Lake or west of the city 85ft Is not necessary to have shops immediately adjacent to the station It was learned In Ogden yesterday that work on the contract for the 17u miles from Guernsey westward Is lobo lo-bo 1 commenced this fall and that as soon as the rightofway matters surveys etc are adjusted on the Evanston and Ogden line that work will be commenced on the western line this winter all of which will be good news to those who are following the matter with such deep interest |
