Show I JUDGE TIMMONY AT REST FORMER POLICE JUSTICE NOW SLEEPS IN bIT OLIVET I Impressive Funeral Services Held at 1 I Family Residenco Yesterday Attendance I At-tendance Was Very Large Ii The casket In which ho reposed covered cov-ered with flowers and surrounded by n host of men and women who had krQwnl I I and loved him in life the funeral services ser-vices over the remains of the late John B Tlmmony were held yesterday afternoon I after-noon at the family residence on Margaret Mar-garet street All classes were represented represent-ed men prominent in politics In business I busi-ness in social life still others whom ho had befriended all were there to pay I their last tribute of respect to his I memory The Mayor and several members 1 I mem-bers of the Council were there n number num-ber of the city olllclals members of the 1 Police and Fire departments members of the G A B and members of the bar I The remains rested In a rich black casket which was completely covered i with llowcrs Rev Phillip S Thacher of the First Unitarian church pronounced the brief but Impressive funeral eulogy lie read I first from Psalm xxIIL and then paid a high tribute to the deceased Rev t Mr Thacher spoke of his many excellent 1 qualities of his genial nature his sincerity r sin-cerity his love of truth his kindly nature in short ho said he might sum i up his character in words which apply only to great souls and all his friends I in v9ry truth could say Ho was a man > Beautiful Indeed was the rendition I of the songs by 0 male quartette composed com-posed of Messrs Ashworth Graham 1 Chrlstopherson and Bra by The choir sang Nearer My God to Thee Shall I We Moot Beyond the River and I I Need Thee Every Hour i After the rendition of an anthem by the quartette Rev Mr Thacher offered i a prayer and then the remains were borne to the hearse by Messrs Frank I B Stephens Allen T Sanfojd M M I Kalghn Joseph Oberndorfer F S Fern strom and J J Roberts The cortege I which followed the remains to the cemetery ceme-tery was a long one At Mt Olivet where the remains i were laid to rest the service was very I brief Rev Mr TImelier merely reading I a few words from the Bible and offering I a brief prayer On Sunday morning at the Salt Lake I Theater a memorial service will be held under the auspices of the First Unitarian I member Uni-tarian church of which he was a |
