Show HAZING MUST STOP Expulsion From Academy for Those Who Persist in Practice Washington Jan 17The Senate Committee on Military Affairs discussed dis-cussed the question ot hazing at West Point Military academy and there was a unanimous expression of opinion In reprobation of the practice and to the effect that those guilty of it should be summarily dealt with It was decided to Incorporate the following provision in the Military academy bill as an nmcndmenl Under the direction ofthe Secretary Secre-tary of War the superintendent of the United States Military academy shall make and enforce such rules and regulations regu-lations as will prevent the practice of hazing and any cadet found guilty of participating in such practice shall be expelled from the academy and shall not be reappolnted to the corps of cadets ca-dets therein nor to the army of the United States The question was taken up on tho suggestion of Senator Warren and vigorously vig-orously pressed by him as well as by Senntois Cockrell and Harris The bill with the amendment will be reported to the Senate |
