Show GLAD HIS BOY WAS SHOT Father Thought It a Pity Bullet Did Not Strike His Childs sHead Instead of Leg 1 Artfiur Moyer 3 lad of 12 years was struck In the left leg by a ball from a 22calIber revolver yesterday forenoon while playing Richards street The ball was fired from close range by a lad named Willie Carr and a painful though not serious wound was Inflicted The Carr boy lost no time In disappearing disap-pearing from the vicinity According to an eyewitness of the shooting tho boys wore playing with the gun when young Carr pointed It deliberately In the direction of the other boys leg and fired The Moycr boy fell to the sidewalk and lay there until hewas removed to the police station His father H Moyer a saloonkeeper was summoned and upon reaching the station sta-tion he expressed himself a believing I It a pity that the bullet had not struck I his child In the head Those of the officers who overheard the statement denounced It in rather strong terms I They said that the fact that the lad i had been In trouble on numerous occasions oc-casions did not warrant any such sentiment sen-timent as that aired by the father The Injured boy was taken to the office of Dr Wilcox where the wound was nome dressed after which ho was sent |
