Show LIBRARY BOARD SESSION Monthly Meeting of the Directors Held Yesterday The monthly meeting of the Public Library board was held yesterday The librarians report showed that during I du-ring May 3M new volumes had been I purchased and 6 donated besides 1 map and 1 pamphlet 29 books were destroyed de-stroyed by the Health department on account of having boon exposed to Infection In-fection Seventytwo new membership cayds were Issued making the total Issued 10UM books loaned for home use 3111 average daily loans 201 j books Issued In readingrooms 2170 daily issues 100 estimated One vol j j nine was donated by J T Hammond 1 one by Putnams Sons New York one I by tho New York Shakespearean society I so-ciety one by the Smithsonian institution I Institu-tion two by the Superintendent of i Public Documents one pamphlet by tho Silk Association of America and a map by Senator J L Rawlins The receipts from fines etc for the month amounted to 3938 The secretary was ordered to purchase pur-chase a number of new books The annual report of the library will be drawn up by tho secretary and submitted sub-mitted to the Mayor The balance in the treasury was reported I re-ported as 574572 |
