Show DEMOCRATIC WOMEN MEET Club Chooses Officers and Changes Made in the ByLaws The annual meeting and election of officers of the Womans Democratic club was held yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs Steers on Third street There was an unusually large attendance members and at tho close of the business meeting refresh meats were served and several musical selections most acceptably rendered by the Misses Priscilla Paul Kllen Bourn Hazel Calder and Afton Paul The annual report of the secretary was the first business taken up at the business meeting Then followed the report of the treasurer Mrs Roundy which showed a deficit of 2210 between the receipts and expenditures This state of affairs was much deplored by several of the members of the club bui It was explained by the president and treasurer that It was due to the fact that Individual members of the club had been dilatory in furnishing statements when they had sold tickets etc and the ladles were not aware that their funds were so shorter they would not have voted 50 to the campaign fund which they did The bylaws were amended so that hereafter the regular meeting of the club will be held on the second Wednes day of cach month the annual meeting on the second Wednesday In January and members be required to pay an annual fee of 1 payable quarterly An amendment also carried providing that hereafter a majority of all Votes cast shall bo necessary to a choice In elections elec-tions The following officers were then elected for the ensuing year Mrs J M Cohen president Mrs H J Hayward Hay-ward secretary Mrs Roundy treasurer treas-urer Mi3 Annie Mler assistant secretary secre-tary Miss Annie Lynch corresponding secretary All these officers were elect cd by acclamation Mrs Thomas Go lightly was named as vicepresident from thc First precinct Mrs Morris Sommcr from the Second and Mrs Mary Squires from the Fourth No vicepresidents were named from the Third and Fifth Mrs George Ward was named ns member of the executive execu-tive committee rom the I First product Mrs John Shea from the Second lire clncl and Mrs K A Wllpon from the Fourth Members were not named from the Third and Fifth precincts The nest meeting of he club will beheld be-held at the home of Mrs George II Wood |
