Show WOMAN HURT BY COASTERS MRS ANNIE LARSEN STRUCK AND RENDERED INSENSIBLE Coasting on Sidewalks to be Hereafter Here-after Prevented Order Follows Various Complaints of Citizens The police have decided that hereafter hereaf-ter those who wish to Indulge in the pastime of coasting down the hills in the eastern and northern parts of town must conlliie the practice to the street Various complaints have reached police po-lice headquarters from residents along the steep sidewalks on the bench of narrow escapes from Injury at the hands of reckless coasters The climax came yesterday when Mrs Annie Larsen of 2iH Center street I stepped from her gate onto the sidewalk i side-walk only to be struck by a large coasting schooner I The lady was thrown violently to the I ground her head striking on the runner run-ner of the sled An ugly gash several Inches long was cut In her left temple and she was rendered unconscious by the blow She was carried Into the house by her husband and soon regained re-gained consciousness However blood flowed profusely from the gash and I Dr Bensen was finally summoned The gash was stitched up and although Mrs Larsen remained delirious for some hours the doctor believes there will be no serious results from the accident ac-cident Yesterday afternoon the affair was reported to Chief Hilton and Officer Sperry was sent out to notify sidewalk coasters that the dangerous pastime on sidewalks must be abandoned |
