PRESIDENT BURT SPEAKS Deal With Southern Pacific Will Not Affect Traffic Arrangements New York Feb 3The Tribune tomorrow to-morrow will say Horace G Burl president of the Union Pacific is at the WaldorfAstoria In an interview he explained at length Ihe conditions of the Union Pacific which has just acquired ac-quired the Southern Pacific He Lld that the great transaction would not affect present traffic arrangements Speaking of tIle changes that arc being made on the main line In Wyoming he said that about 200 miles of road had been practically rebuilt materially reducing re-ducing the grades In another two years still more important changes on the divide and the Salt Lake section in western UJah will be completed The road will be shortened about thirtyfour miles making the distance between Council Bluffs and Ogden practically 1000 miles
