chosen to get kicked out ot Congress rather than anticipate the certain action f ac-tion of Congress by resigning when asked as to his view of the two reports of the special committee bearing upon his case today said The minority report follows all the law there Is bearing on the subject and I believe that the House will be compelled to accept that view and t permit me to be sworn in so that the case may be decided on the question of expulsion So far as the majority report is concerned I have no opinion to express pave that it Is based upon prejudice and not law If the House adopts It I will have to go But he was asked docs not the minority report indicate that the signers simply want to take what they deem the regular and lawful way to get you out and Is there anything in hat report to give you any hope of being permitted to retain your seat T recognize that after I am sworn In the chances arc strong for my cx pulBloa I do not Intend to resign and If i have to go my preference Is to at least get out according to law POL7GAMISTS POSTMASTERS t WhnethcrehaB not been muchpoli tics in the Robert case yet in some Republican Re-publican quarters there has been a disposition to hold the of the lands was up before the Committee on Indian I Affairs but no definite action was taken The bill is of the utmost Importance Im-portance and It is a comparatively law measure for the committee Consequently I Con-sequently was deemed inadvisable to take action until the committee is more fully informed as to the situation on I the reservation the desires of the Indians I In-dians affected and the views of the Interior In-terior department The committee therefore decided to refer the whole question to a subcommittee consisting consist-Ing l of Senators Thurston Quarles and Jones of Arkansas to fully Investigate and report upon the facts concerning the reservation The Commissioner of Indian Aftalrfa and Secretary of the Interior will probably appear before the committee before any action is I takenRURAL RURAL FREE DELIVERY Should the Senate acquiesce Ir the action of the House in Increasing the amount of the appropriation for the rural free delivery service it is likely that Idaho will be one of the first States to benefit thereby Within the past few weeks Representative Wilson has asked the Postotfice department to establish the service in two of the tons of the State But aalong the 25th of last October Assistant Postmas terGeneral Heath In response to a personal per-sonal request of Senator Shoup replied that it was then Impossible to establish the rural free delivery service from Boise and Caldwcll because the appropriation appro-priation for the current fiscal year had been already fully apportioned Senator Sena-tor Shoup will naturally have the
