Show Voman Who Walked from Mis I I issippi Riverto Uthh e After a brief illness caused by general gen-eral debility Mrs Harriet Parry passed away last l night at the residence of her daughter 632 West South Temple street Mrs Parry was the widow of I John Parry a well known citizen of Utah In the early days She was born in North Wales near St Asaph In 1S32 and at an early age became identified with the Mormon church Mrs Parry emigrated to Utah In 1S53 walking all the way from Xeokuk Ia to the promised land Within a year I after her arrival here she married John I Parry and was fourteen years later left a widow with four children all of whom survive her Mrs Parry was possessed of considerable force of character char-acter as was shown by her bravery In facing the unknown dangers of the plains and her subsequent struggles to rear her young children In comfort Throughout her life she was a consistent con-sistent member of the church of her adoption Her surviving children are Joseph H Edwin F and Henry 13 Parry and Mrs Louisa k Kmcry Funeral Fu-neral services will be conducted Sunday Sun-day at noon In the Sixteenth ward meeting house |
