Show Democrat Chairman Praises New Campaign Booklet Democratic National Chairman Chair-man John M. Bailey this week praised the new Democrat Congressional Con-gressional Campaign Manual as a basic tool with which Democrats Demo-crats can win victories across the nation this year. The new manual, a 40 page booklet just off the press, is the current edition of the highly successful 1960 campaign manual man-ual written by Lawrence Obrien, then director of organization of the Kennedy-Johnson campaign. Mr. O'Brien is now special assistant as-sistant to President John F. Kennedy. Chairman Bailey urged Democratic Demo-cratic leaders and candidates at all levels of party organization across the country to make full use of the new manual. "This booklet will fit in your pocket. If it is made full use of across the nation, from state and the Congressional District level right down to the precincts, it can mean victory after victory on election day, and help fill the Congress together with the state houses and other offices across the country, with victorious Democrats. "The details of organization and the campaign technique that is spelled out in this booklet have been tried and found extremely ex-tremely successful in the 1960 election and in other elections. "We want to win this year's elections. We want to break the historic precedent that says the party in power cannot increase its membership in the Congress its membership in the Congress in an off year election. We want to win this year to help President Presi-dent Kennedy keep our country on the move. "This new campaign manual is a basic tool for victory." |
