Show Utah Needs 400 Additional Teachers A recent summary of Utah's needs to staff its schools show that over 400 additional teachers will be necessary to staff the elementary ele-mentary and secondary schools in the state, according to the UEA executive secretary, John C. Evans, Jr. The shortage is particularly acute in the primary grades. In spite of marked improvement in recruitment there is still a shortage short-age in the secondary schools in the English, mathematics, science, sci-ence, social science and physical education fields. The most critical shortage in the high school level is in English, Eng-lish, where twenty-four teachers are still needed, according to Mr. Evans. |
