Show Postmaster Urges All Do It Now Mail Your Xmas Cards With the peak of the big mail rush just over the horizon, Postmaster Post-master David R. Trevithick said that every postal employee is digging in harder than ever to insure delivery of all Christmas cards and gift packages before Christmas Day. The flood of outgoing cards and gifts is about equal to the torrents of incoming mail that are getting larger each day. The Postmaster urges that all of us make it a point to "Do it now!" A delay of a few days at this critical time may mean disappointing dis-appointing your friends and loved ones on Christmas Day. Be sure to tie your cards in bundles, with addresses all one way, using the labels left at your home by your mailman marked "All for local delivery" and "All for out of town, delivery." de-livery." Don't forget to put your name and address on all card envelopes and package labels. Tying in with the National Improved Im-proved Mail Service Program, the Postmaster urges that you divide your mailings into various groups, with those for the most distant places going first, making mak-ing it a point to mail early in the day. The Postmaster especially requests re-quests that you get your out-of-state packages and cards into the Post Office immediately, and Christmas cards for local and nearby points by at least a week before Christmas. |
