Show JAMES SMEDLEY BOUNTIFUL MAN DIES SUDDENLY James Smedley 75 one of Boun- Boun Bountiful's most best citizens died suddenly and very unexpectedly in a 3 Salt Lake bos- bos pital pita I of heart attack today Mr Smedley had been in apparent good health the previous pre day da when he had bad several se teeth extracted Since his wife died last October Mr Smedley has not lived Jived in his own home but visited with his chil chil- children children dren in Bountiful Salt Lake Pay- Pay Payson Payson son and Price Mr was as an empire builder Not in a 3 big way but like those who ho built Rome in the begin begin- beginning beginning beginning ning he toiled persistently and in in- in He started at the bot bot- bottom bottom tom torn ut kept advancing ad He was no speculator but worked steady and sure He was a man who always his part whether it was to flume to go on a mission He was a con con- consistent man man he he lived his religion by example rather than precept took part in civil and community affairs and in was a every way gen gen- genuine genuine genuine citizen Mr Smedley was one of the organizers of the Growers Market company In n which he served as a 3 director for many years Mr Smedley was born in bun Boun Bountiful Oct 18 1864 seven s ven days after his bis parents Samuel and Eliza Sturton Sturton ton Smedley completed the journey journe Across cross the plains He married Alice Chase in the Salt Lake temple February 14 1894 who died on the of last October In 1896 1396 he filled a mission in the southern states He was an active high priest al also al- al aIso so 50 had been a quorum president Surviving are three sons ons and two daughters laughters Dan Chase Smedley Salt Lake Ruth S.
